We finally made it to the ocean on Memorial Day. The afternoon was full of gifts; I am still reveling in the memory of it.
The birds were having a rendezvous on an outcropping not too far offshore. There was apparently some good feeding going on, as they were diving constantly. The feeding frenzy invited another fisherman as well.
Some other ocean-gazers called to us to let us know there was a harbor seal joining in the fishing, and helped the kids spot him several times. There were also some birds/ducks that I didn’t recognize.
The kids really enjoyed a chance to climb rocks, and dig in the sand, wading in the tidal pools, and burying their feet in the sand. (And tolerating my camera) 🙂
The day was a glorious gift, full of all those perfect “little things.” Thankful.
